Good luck and happy reading. “I can’t share you,” he said as he pressed his mouth against my temple. “I know you want to take this slow, and you’re scared. I get it. But I can’t . . . this is mine. It always was. You were mine then, and you’re mine now." - Tripp, You Were Mine by Abbi Glines Tripp Everyone has that defining moment in their life. That one choice you have to make. I had my moment, and it has haunted me ever since. In those defining moments, you either pave a road to happiness or you regret every step from then on. For me, I don’t know which road would have been the best because between my two choices, neither of them includedher. I had been young and so fucking scared. Scared of being forced by my parents to be someone I didn’t want to be. Scared of making the wrong choice. Scared of leaving her. But mostly I’d been scared of losing her. She was my regret. Leaving her changed me. The moment I climbed on my bike and drove out of Rosemary Beach, Florida, I left true joy behind. I’d only had that summer with her, three months that altered me forever. But what I would never be able to forgive myself for was that they had changed her just as much. She was beyond broken now. I couldn’t reach her. Seeing her in pain broke my soul. Losing my cousin, Jace, had caused a deep pain in both of us, one I never wanted to relive. He would forever be in my heart. I’d never forget his laugh and the easy way he loved and lived his life. He didn’t live in the world of fear I inhabited. He chose his path and he walked it. He was the better man. And I had been able to stand back and let him have her. She deserved the better man. Now he was gone and both of our worlds were thrown off balance. Because I couldn’t stand back anymore. No one was protecting her. No one was holding her, but and she wouldn’t fucking let me near her. She wasn’t going to let me fix the past. I’d severed any hope of that when I’d driven away and left her with no other choice but to be with Jace. If only I could embrace the emptiness and accept it. But I couldn’t. Not when I saw her lost, beautiful face. She needed me as much as I needed her. Our story wasn’t over. It would never be over. If I had to stay here and watch over her, even though she wouldn’t let me get near her, I would. For the rest of my motherfucking life. I’d stay right here. Making sure my Bethy was okay. Gossip is the ultimate currency in Rosemary Beach, but Bethy and Tripp have managed to keep one big secret to themselves. Eight years ago, Tripp Newark was dating a rich girl he didn’t like and was on his way to Yale—and a future he didn’t want. The only way he could escape his predictable life would be to give up the money and power that came with his family’s name. And that’s exactly what he planned to do. At the end of the summer, he was going to ride off on his Harley and never look back. That was before he met Beth Lowry. It was only supposed to be a summer fling. She was a sixteen-year-old trailer-park girl who served drinks to his friends at Kerrington Country Club. They didn’t run in the same social circles. No one even knew they were friends, let alone lovers. Yet, for one summer, Bethy became his entire world. But he couldn’t give up on his plan. He needed to leave Rosemary Beach, but he vowed he would come back for her. Problem was, by the time he came back—years later than promised—it was too late. His cousin, Jace, had already claimed the woman he loved… "Leaving her changed me. Let's jump right in.
As authors who have gained tremendous success, what is one piece of advice you would give to aspiring authors? J: Finish your book! A: Write every day. Get thick skin. Research. C: Google is your best friend.
What inspired you to write your first book? What inspires you to write, in general?
J: My best friend inspired me to write my first book. Now, it's just something innate -- I just have to. It's so hard to explain! A: I've always wanted to write a book. My husband bought me a laptop for Christmas one year, and from there, it's just history. Now, music is my inspiration and of course, real life. C: I need an escape from my busy life, and writing was my hobby. Now I'm inspired by my love for writing and our awesome readers. How do you choose a book title? How do you choose a hero and heroine name? J: I write down any interesting words or phrases I hear. My character names come from sticky notes from signings and people I meet every day. A: My titles come from actual quotes in my book. My characters come from sticky notes and interestingly, names that I hear mothers yelling in grocery stores. :) C: I usually try to work the book title into a story, so I typically come up with them when I'm writing. Character names are the hardest for me. It's very important to pick a book boyfriend that isn't widely used by other authors, so I try to find something that's original and will stand out. What is the most challenging aspect of writing a book? J: Editing! A: Creating a story that doesn't suck. C: Finding time to write. I have to have several days blocked off to plan, and then to write. What is the most gratifying aspect of writing a book?
J: The fact that people take time to read and enjoy what I do. And not just my mom. A: Creating a story that doesn't suck. :) C: Seeing my books in reader's hands. It's really special.
What do you think makes a “good” book?
J: Writing that flows and makes sense. And also, what Abbi said. A: Something you can't put down. C: If you could tell that an author spent time and wrote for themselves, and really cared about their story, I think that comes through in a book. That's what I try to do every time.
What was the moment that made you feel like a "professional writer"?
J: When I hit the NYT bestseller list. That was insane. A: When I walked into Simon & Schuster's offices and my books were everywhere. C: I still feel like i'm pretending every day. I don't know that I want to ever feel like i'm a professional; I want this to be fun. What word make you blush when you read or use it? J: Moist. Yuck. A: Squirt. It's just not in my vocab. C: Clit. I hate that word. Co-authoring a future book... yes or no? With what author and why? J: Hugh Howey. I'd love to write with him because he has an off-the-charts imagination. A: I'd do it with Colleen and Jamie, because I know I could get along with them the whole time we were writing. C: Tarryn Fisher because we write in very different ways, so it would be really interesting to see how we could make one cohesive book. Are there any new writers who have caught your interest? Who? J: Eden Fierce. A: Penelope Douglas. C: Mia Sheridan and Amy Harmon. What is your favorite reader moment? J: When a woman emailed me and told me that her son had been killed, but reading one of my books gave her something to look forward to every day. I was and continue to be incredibly touched. A: My favorite reader moment is simply the fact that I have readers who come to my signings. Even wearing my shirts. That just blows my mind. C: To be honest, I couldn't believe it when my ten-year-old son read Slammed and loved it. That's made me so proud. Favorite hashtag(s)? J: #RedHairDontCare A: #RushCrush C: #MilesHighClub Finally... what is a fun fact about your two author bus mates we might not already know? J: Colleen keeps severed heads in her luggage. Abbi's boobs make an explosion noise when her bra comes off. A: Colleen drinks Diet Coke on the bus when no one's looking. Jamie as the operating body temperature of a 90 year old man. C: Both of them love to talk about bodily functions while I'm eating. It's horrible. Harlow His green eyes were almost emerald. I was surprised I hadn’t remembered that. An unsure smile touched his face as he looked at his aunt and then at Mase. I took a quick glance at the rest of him. He had to be at least six-four now, and every inch of him was well built. Thick, corded arms that reminded me a lot of Mase’s were showcased in the short sleeves of his gray T-shirt. “So you slept with your stepmom.” Those were the first words to break the silence. Of course, they came from Mase. “Mase Colt-Manning, I am going to tan your hide,” Maryann said in a stern voice, quickly wiping her hands on her apron and making her way to Major. The small smile that tugged at Major’s lips as he looked at Mase made me think maybe he wasn’t going to get as upset as Maryann thought he was. It wasn’t like he was a kid who was taken advantage of. He was every bit a man. He turned to look at Maryann but stopped when his eyes found me. He paused, then began grinning. A real smile this time. He recognized me. Not surprising, since my face had been all over the media the past two months. “Well, if it ain’t Little Miss Gone Missing,” Major said. “You’re even prettier than the photos they keep showing of you on TV.” “Easy,” Mase said, and took a step to stand between Major and me. “I realize you’re Casanova now, but she ain’t available for romancing. I’m sure Uncle Chap will have a new wife soon, and you can see how long it takes to get in her pants.” “Enough!” Maryann said, slapping Mase on the arm like a naughty child before pulling Major into a hug. “We’re thrilled you’re here. Ignore your cousin’s attempt at humor. He has no filter, and I apologize for that.” Major returned her hug and smirked at Mase over her head, which didn’t even reach his shoulder. “Thanks, Aunt Maryann. I won’t let him get to me. I can handle it, I swear.” “Unbelievable. He sleeps with his old man’s wife, and you’re taking up for him and babying him like he’s the victim.” Mase said, but there was no resentment in his tone. He was smiling as he said it. The door opened again, and Mase’s stepfather stepped inside. Even with a limp, he was still a looming presence. Height was definitely a Colt trait. “Glad you’re here, boy,” he said to Major. “But I’m hungry, so you’re gonna have to let go of my wife so she can feed me.” Major laughed this time, a loud, full laugh that made us all smile. Grant “Message fifty-five. Each day, I think this will be the last day I get your voice mail. That you’ll eventually answer me. I just want to hear your voice and know you’re safe and happy. I want you happy. I’m fucking miserable. I’m losing sleep. You’re all I think about. I miss you, baby. I miss you so bad. So damn bad. Just knowing you’re safe and healthy would help. Rush assures me you’re fine, but I need to hear it from you. Anything . . . I’ll do anything. Just talk to me.” BEEP I hated that sound. It mocked my pain and put an end to the few seconds when I felt like I had Harlow’s ear. But she probably wasn’t listening to my messages, anyway. I was pretty damn sure she would have called me by now if she had heard even one of my desperate voice mails. She wouldn’t be able to ignore me. Rush had told me she wasn’t at Mase’s mother’s house in Texas, but I was about ready to visit Mase and find out what he knew. I didn’t care about the extra security I’d been warned about. I would go to fucking jail if it meant I could get some answers. I would give anything to know where Harlow was. ATOMR BLOG Tour & Author Apprecaiation Day Twisted Perfection Book Summary This is book one of the Perfection Series and a spin-off of the Too Far Series Life outside of her house was a new experience for Della Sloane. The dark secrets of her past weren’t something she ever intended to share with anyone. They would never understand. No one would ever get close enough to find out. There was always a chance she’d go crazy sooner than they expected…
Woods Kerrington had never been one to be attracted to fragile females. They seemed like too much work. He wasn’t in it for the work just the pleasure. A night full of naughty fun had been exactly what was on his mind when he’d laid eyes on the hot little number that didn’t know how to pump gas and needed some help.
What he didn’t know was she was as fragile as they came. The carefree girl who spoke her mind and didn’t care what the world thought of her was more breakable than he could ever imagine…
Introducing Woods - Read Below our character Interview Character Interview with Woods:
1) Della…what are your first thoughts when I say her name? The reason I smile when I open my eyes every morning.
2) How did you feel after the engagement dinner when you saw Della? It was much harder than I thought it was going to be. I’d always been able to walk away from anyone. I couldn’t with Della. After I was officially engaged I knew I was in serious trouble because I wasn’t going to be able to let Della go. She was a game changer.
3) What is one thing you would do differently if you could? I would have never gotten engaged to begin with. I wouldn’t have let me belief that Della was going to leave soon get in the way. I’d made sure she never left or if she did that I was with her.
4) What are you the most afraid of? Losing her.
5) If you could have one wish come true, what would it be? A wish… well that is something you want to happen but you believe it needs special power to make it come true. Right now my number one focus is Della’s healing. But I know that will happen. I’m making sure of it. So, I guess the answer to this question is, I would wish that my grandfather had protected me in his will where my father is concerned. That’s something I can’t control or change.
6) What is something about you we might be surprised to know? I had a lisp until I was nine years old. It was a serious issue with the ladies.
7) Being with someone who has heavy emotional baggage can be taxing. In what ways do you think you help Della? She isn’t alone anymore. I’m always there and I understand her. I’m also getting the help she needs. Nothing about her is taxing. Ever.
8) What do you love the most about Della? Her laugh. She finds joy in the simplest things. It was the one thing that stood out to me the most the first night I met her. She enjoys life and I enjoy watching her live it.
